Salvation

Salvation is God’s rescue from sin and death through Jesus Christ—received by grace through faith, not by our own works.

Browse: Gospel Foundations

What does it mean to be saved? In Scripture, to be saved is to be rescued from sin’s guilt and power, reconciled to God, and given eternal life—through Jesus Christ alone.

Why do we need salvation? Because every person has sinned and cannot make themselves right with a holy God by effort or goodness. How is salvation received? By turning from sin and trusting Christ—by grace through faith—as God’s gift, not wages we earn.

If you’re asking how to be saved

Salvation is God’s rescue: from sin and death, through Jesus Christ, received by turning from sin and trusting him—not by earning your way to God.

The same gospel that tells you the bad news about sin tells you the good news: Christ died and rose, and there is forgiveness and new life in his name.

  • Titus 3:4–7

He saved us… according to his own mercy… justified by his grace.

Walk this out

Truth is not only for the mind—it meets you where life is concrete and close.

  • AnxietyWhen your mind won’t quiet down, Scripture speaks to the weight of worry and points you to God’s care, prayer, and peace.
  • FearWhen danger feels near or the future feels unstable, Scripture names fear honestly and points the heart to God’s presence and promises.
  • PrayerPrayer is how believers speak with God: dependence in words, not performance—shaped by Jesus’ teaching and the Spirit’s help.

Salvation begins with the reality of sin. Scripture makes clear that salvation only makes sense when the seriousness of sin and separation from God is understood.

Christ is the center of salvation

Christ is the center of salvation. The gospel is not advice or inspiration. It is the good news of what Christ has done to reconcile sinners to God.

Salvation is received by grace through faith

Salvation is received by grace through faith. The Bible consistently rejects boasting and self-reliance, grounding salvation in grace and trust in Christ.
