Spiritual growth

Prayer

Prayer is how believers speak with God: dependence in words, not performance—shaped by Jesus’ teaching and the Spirit’s help.

Browse: Spiritual Growth · Gospel Foundations

Prayer is not a technique for self-improvement. It is personal communication with the living God—Father, Son, and Spirit—and the normal voice of a heart that knows it cannot live without him.

Scripture shows prayer as worship and lament, thanksgiving and confession, bold asking and quiet listening. It is how dependence sounds: turning from self-reliance to the One who already knows you, rules all things, and draws near to those who call on him in truth.

When you don’t know what to pray

You do not need polished words—only an honest heart turned toward God.

Prayer is how dependence sounds: asking, thanking, and listening to the One who already knows you.
